I am single and live in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. I attended the University of Alabama for my bachelor's and master's degrees, and was in the Million Dollar Band while there. After 12 years of teaching, I worked in the cruise industry. Needing another change, I became a technical writer. Working as an independent contractor gave me the time to work out some health issues. After several surgeries and one VERY difficult recovery, I decided to take my writing to a new level. I wrote Bacon as a means to show my appreciation to my mother for everything she had done for me while nursing me back to health.

Awards

Peggy is the winner of a bronze IPPY Award in the Humor category. She was a finalist in the National Best Books 2008 Awards and the 2008 National INDIE Excellence Awards. In April 2009, Don't Fry Bacon was chosen as the winner in the humor category of the NABE Pinnacle Book Achievement Award Winners for 2008
